World's tallest building, Sky City will rise to 838 meters in just 210 days in China

Sky-high buildings are rising tall to compete for the crown of world's tallest building. We've seen Burj Khalifa stand out as the tallest building in the world as of yet. But it will soon be toppled off from this tall honor as many competing structures are in the making to shine as the tallest building soon. The latest entrant is the Sky City which is all set to rise high in China as the world’s tallest skyscraper. Another record this structure intends to set is the time frame in which it plans to be built. Earlier it was estimated to be build in 90 days only. However that has been pushed further to 210 days which if achieved will be a record too. As the current tallest tower, Burj Khalifa took about five years to complete which is almost 9 times more. Sky City will not only rise 10 meters higher than the Burj Khalifa but will also be the least expensive tallest building as it is estimated to cost $628 million which is less than half of Burj Khalifa’s $1.5 billion price tag.

$2.5 million bra

What is common between Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Gisele Bundchen, Karolina Kurkova's, Claudia Schiffer and Tyra Banks; well they have all been Victoria's secret angels, donning shimmering and expensive lingerie. And now Alessandra Ambrosio joins the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra club as she poses in a $2.5 million Fantasy Bra that has been crafted by London Jewelers. Sporting floral motifs, the Floral Fantasy bra has been done up with amethysts, rubies, and sapphires as well as white, pink, and yellow diamonds, all encrusted in 18 carat rose and yellow gold.

But the star of the show is a massive 20-carat white diamond placed strategically ay the "front and center inside the blossom on the blingy brassiere". The belt that strings it all together sports as many as 5,200 shiny rocks, hand-picked out of 15,000 precious stones.

The fourth largest moon rock sells for $330,000

On the 14th of October in New York, The Fletcher Sinclair Mansion held an extremely unique auction, the centerpiece of which was the fourth largest piece of the Moon ever made available to the public. As Daryl Pitt said “All in all, a great day for extraterrestrial real estate.”

Called Dar Al Gani (Dag) 1058, the piece is from that still unexplored, far side of the moon. This particular piece is thought to have been launched off the moon after being repeatedly battered by meteorites. There is a definite connection between DaG 400, the first lunar meteorite to have fallen in Africa and DaG 1058 as they were found close to each other. With a total weight of 4 lbs., it was sold in two halves about 4.5 by 9 by 1.4 inches each. However the buyer as well as the seller of this rare moon rock remain anonymous.

Other than this rare piece of the moon that sold for a whopping $330,000, there was also a Gibeon meteorite, a large piece of the Canyon Diablo meteorite and a piece of the Peeksill Fireball meteorite.

painting sells for $34 million

Abstraktes Bild (809-4) an abstract painting by German artist Gerhard Richter was sold for a record $34 million to an anonymous bidder at Sotheby's in London on Friday. The Abstraktes Bild was described as "masterpiece of calculated chaos" and a "paradigm of Gerhard Richter's mature artistic and philosophical achievement" by Sotheby's. 80 year old Richter lives in Cologne and is considered by many as the world's greatest living painter.

The sale happened in 5 minutes of bidding thus beating the previous 2010 record of $28.6 million paid for Jasper Johns' "Flag" at Christie's auction house in New York in 2010.

A $500,000 diamond heel is the world’s most expensive shoe

Nandini Maheshwari / 5 hrs ago
For the high-end shoe lovers who treasure their shoes, Kathryn Wilson, New Zealand's most successful footwear designer, has teamed up with Sarah Hutchings of Orsini Fine Jewellery to create the world’s most expensive shoe for $500,000. Known for her passion for fine jewellery, Sarah continues her love for creating most exquisite and hand-crafted jewellery by giving Kathryn’s shoe a bespoke diamond makeover. The single classic court-heeled shoe features more than half a million dollars' worth of white diamonds to make it a one-of-a-kind work of art. The process involved hours of surgeon-like precision using tweezers and a special adhesive.

“Like most women, I have a lifelong love of shoes. Creating a dream shoe appeals to the princess inside me and, I'm sure, most girls out there," says Sarah Hutchings.

Though the one-off shoe can’t be worn in Cindrella style, but as Wilson says, “that's what fairytales are all about.”
The $500,000 diamond shoe displayed in a specially made Perspex box, will be on display at the Orsini Fine Jewellery showroom in Auckland (244 Parnell Road) – heavily guarded by a security team, on October 5th. The shoe will later go on sale in a silent auction at Wilson's 2013 autumn/winter collection launch in Auckland. Proceeds from the sale will go to Ronald McDonald House, for which Wilson is an ambassador.
While this diamond-studded heel is the perfect artwork for the shoe connoisseurs, dressing-up in Cindrella style shoes is no longer a dream. Besides the world’s most expensive shoes spotted at celebrity red carpet appearances, recently, Christian Louboutin has unveiled his new interpretation of Cinderella's glass slipper, in celebration of Disney's re-release of the famous story on DVD and Blu-ray. The real-life glass heels are covered in crystals, with two delicate, shimmering butterfly embellishments on the front and back of each shoe, along with Louboutin's signature red soles.

Also, we have earlier told you about Q by Pasquale's bejeweled glass slippers for dressing up fairy tale style.
